Calm & Clear Privacy Policy

Calm & Clear ("the app," "we," "us") is a mindfulness and study-habit app built by GMRT Apps. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's handled.

Who can use this app

Calm & Clear is intended for users age 13 and older. The app asks for a date of birth on first launch and blocks anyone who indicates they're under 13.

Information we collect

When you use Calm & Clear, the app stores the following in your own account, hosted on Supabase (our backend provider):

Mood and stress check-ins — the mood or stress level you select, and the date/time
Session activity — breathing session length, Pomodoro focus sessions, and which tools you've used (Basics lessons, Reframing exercises, Goals)
Reflection journal entries and Reframing exercise text — whatever you choose to write
Goals you create and mark complete
Optional profile info — a display name and date of birth, if you choose to provide them
Zip code (optional) — only if you use the Environment feature, to look up local weather/air-quality conditions
Account identifier — the app creates an anonymous account for you automatically; if you choose to sign up with an email and password, that's stored for login purposes only

We do not require an account, name, or contact information to use the app's core features.

How your information is used

Your data is used only to run the app's own features for you: showing your mood/stress trends, your streaks and growth level, your saved journal entries, and your Environment weather card. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.

Analytics

The app includes an analytics system that can log which features are used (for example, "a breathing session was completed" or "dark mode was turned on"). These events carry only structural information — counts, durations, and fixed categories like mood type — never your journal text, thoughts, birth date, or name. Any user identifier included is a one-way cryptographic hash, not your actual account ID.

Data deletion — Calm & Clear (by GMRT Apps)

Calm & Clear gives you two ways to remove your data, both available directly in the app under Account (bottom navigation → Settings icon):

Delete My Data — open the app, go to Account → Delete My Data, and confirm. This immediately erases all of your logged activity: mood and stress check-ins, session history, journal/reflection and reframing text, goals, Basics lesson progress, Pomodoro sessions, and your saved zip code. Your account itself is kept (so you can keep using the app with a clean slate); your optional display name and date of birth are also kept, since they're used for the app's compliance/age-gate check rather than logged activity.
Delete Account — open the app, go to Account → Delete Account, and confirm. This permanently deletes your account and every category of data listed above, with no retention period — the deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You'll be signed out and a new anonymous session will start if you continue using the app.

If you no longer have the app installed and want your data deleted, email antrone.turner@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account (or describe your display name/account details) and we will delete your account and data manually within a few days.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored with Supabase, a hosted database provider, using row-level security so that only your own account can read or write your data. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.

Children's privacy

Calm & Clear is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. The app's sign-up flow is designed to block access for users who indicate an age under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
